About Dr. Kim
John J. Kim, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified gynecologist who specializes in general gynecology, obstetrics, and gynecologic surgery. A skilled, compassionate physician, he brings more than 20 years of experience to his patients at Coeur OBGYN in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.
An expert in minimally invasive surgical practices, patients trust Dr. Kim for a range of procedures. He provides in-office treatments for a variety of conditions, including uterine fibroids, abnormal bleeding, endometriosis, uterine prolapse, to list a few. He also performs surgery in hospital settings at local facilities such as Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
Before joining the team at Coeur OBGYN, Dr. Kim spent seven years educating medical students and residents as an assistant professor at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. Dr. Kim pioneered the da Vinci® robotics training program and established the minimally invasive gynecology program during his time at Loma Linda University. He also conducted research on infertility and contributed to several respected urogynecology textbooks.
Dr. Kim earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University and completed his residency at the Loma Linda University Medical Center. He holds a fellowship with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Kim enjoys hunting, fishing, cycling, running, and many other outdoor activities. He and his wife have two wonderful children.
